I’m not a fan of Trump but what you says is true. Since bumbler George Bush Jr went to war with Iraq over false pretenses it’s been mostly Democrats rather than Republicans being war hawks. Democrats seem to be obsessed with Russia (although a subsection of nitwits at the Heritage foundation behave the same).
Putin is a hardliner and should never have invaded Ukraine but isn’t entirely to blame for the situation. Modern ethnic Ukrainian identity is an offshoot of Russian. Rather then trying to collaborate with Russia post cold war. some in the US tried to ferment division as a proxy against Russia. If the US administration, under Democrat Obama, hadn’t supported the Euromaiden violent overthrow of what at the time was a democratically elected pro-Russian Ukrainian government. this war would never have happened. To add fuel to the fire some American officials seem to believe they can subsequently setup NATO on Russia doorstep without a response. It’s really not that surprising that Putin has been busy upgrading his nuclear arsenal and you can bet most of those new nuclear warheads are being pointed at America. One’s doesn’t poke a bear than act like its just the bears fault when sh-t happens.. I also can’t blame the Russians for noticing despite American adminstration claims they are doing it for democracy , they are perfectly fine buying oil and selling weapons to the totalitarian theocracy of Saudi Arabia that is far more oppressive than Russia (or China for that matter)
