Burning a illuminated hand crafted manuscript of the Quran, esp one showing images of Mohammed (they do exist) would be abominable. So is blowing up a bus, magazine publication or a pizza parlor in the name of Islam. Such actions only encourage Islamophobia.
I’m curious. If one used a copy of the Quran to draw images of Mohammed next to the verses would you destroy it?
If one can criticize the Bible one should be able to criticize the Quran, its violence, supercessionism and inhumanity while retaining its positive teachings. Mohammed and his companions should not be given the last word. Islam must evolve or die as a medieval curiosity unsuited for modernity.
