State notifies Congress of 4 Israeli military units to keep receiving US aid

WASHINGTON — The State Department notified Congress on Friday that four Israeli military units flagged for gross violations of human rights under the so-called Leahy law have taken corrective measures and can continue receiving US assistance, Al-Monitor has learned.

The four units are Shimshon Battalion, West Bank Branch of the Coordinator for Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), Ma’avarim (Crossings) Unit, and Shahar Battalion.

The State Department has not made a determination on the ultra-Orthodox battalion known as Netzah Yehuda.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
