The United States’ Imperial Policy and the Importance of University Protest Camps: Exposing Injustice, Supporting Palestine, and Promoting Peace
I agree with Sayid Marcos Tenório’s statement that the U.S. imperial policy forces its students to be on the front lines. The “university protest camps” spread across the United States are of exceptional importance at this moment when the United States is supporting and providing weapons to Israel to carry out a massacre of unprecedented scale and severity. The number of dead and wounded that we have witnessed on social media, especially TikTok, is alarming.
It is ironic that the United States, which combines the most corrupt, unjust, and socially destructive political system in the world, also has a student movement with a history of revolutionary awareness in addressing humanitarian and political issues, both within and outside American borders.
For nearly a century, the United States has forced its students to be on the front lines, giving their movement more significance than in any other part of the world. The accusations of anti-Semitism, which have been used to intimidate critics of Israel’s crimes, are no longer accepted globally due to the exposure of their political and ideological fragility. Such accusations have been employed to divert attention from the real problems.
I am grateful to Bernard Sanders for exposing Netanyahu’s true intentions. Netanyahu’s lies about anti-Semitism cause immeasurable harm. It is insulting to divert attention from immoral and illegal war policies by insulting American intelligence.
It is important to note that many protesters at U.S. universities are Jewish and they acknowledge that the State of Israel is the enemy of the Jews. They express that Jews around the world are under pressure from Zionists, facing persecution for their religious beliefs and lack of support for the apartheid regime and the Zionist genocide in Gaza. While the extreme right-wing Jewish faction wields undeniable power, their downfall lies in their unintentional negotiation of their own demise. The egregious errors committed by this extremist group have caused lasting harm to the Jewish community.
In terms of Saudi Arabia’s Plan B, which focuses on strengthening the Saudi-US relationship and promoting regional balance, it is crucial to emphasize common interests and balance relationships with other powers. By prioritizing energy, stability, and regional growth, Saudi Arabia and the US can forge a partnership that promotes peace, prosperity, and sustainable development in the region and beyond.
