Other than the most egregious situations.. I err on the side of free speech. So although I might not agree with some news outlet on some issue I support their right to publish their views (including Al Jazeera). In the case of MEMO it has its obvious Hamas biases which I find atrocious but one thing I like about MEMO is it doesn’t censor views critical of MEMO, Islam, or Hamas. Try going to comment section of any major American news or social website The bias is very real including in American news outlets that proport to support free speech.
Even when I go to Greek leftist news sites and criticize leftists… my posts are more prone to get flagged as spam, deleted as “violating terms”, or sometimes even banned. Greek leftists like to dish it out but when it comes to facing criticism themselves, like many leftists in other countries they frame critics as “far right”, authoritarian” and “racist” as a justification to shut down debate. It’s evident how communists states ended up with state controlled media rather than an ecosystem of competing views. Many don’t understand democracy and free speech is about competing views not a particular ideology.
