Hamas see themselves as jihadists. Its unlikely they will ever officially surrender. What then? Keep killing Palestinians until none are left? At some point Israel will need to end the war and create some sort of administrative zone in Gaza. And although Hamas supporters might not officially be part of that adminstration they will go underground and continue with their terrorism. And if Likud tries to deport millions of Palestinians it will be called out as ethnic cleansing by the rest of the world (as it does meet the definition)
Netanyahu doesn’t help the situation with his own river-to-the-sea maps, and inclusion of Kahanists as ministers. Instead of all-in he should be working to reach a compromise by finding Palestinians willing to support a two-state solution. (which IMO, based on observations of Greek history, should include the deportation of any Palestinians or Hamas supporters from Israel as part of a population exchange)
