Actually they were opposed to the Partition of their homeland.
The Irgun killed hundreds of Palestinian Jews who were also opposed to Partition.
The only reason Partition was passed was because America bullied and bribed nations – possibly the dumbest bit of foreign policy ever!
Choice? To lose half their nation to foreigners? How is that a positive?
The percentage of Jews CB in Israel is shrinking; at some point they’ll be enough Arabs to form a coalition. Then they’ll reunify the land and we’ll have peace.
