No nation have such a silly exception law so any foreign “critics’ over this dumb law’s removal can go f-ck themselves with their hypocrisy. The law was created as an overreaction after a Junta crackdown 50 years ago to legitimate leftwing protests against a far right dictatorship.
Since that time though Greece has become a democracy again. Unfortunately some communist and anarchist Greeks that don’t respect election results have often used Greek universities to escape prosecution for committing crimes (vandalism, assaulting police officers, looting, terrorist attacks, and so on) That’s why the law was retracted.
If communists, anarchists, far right or any other lunatics re peacefully protesting and not interfering with anyone’s business they have a democratic right to protest. If they are breaking the law during protests they deserve no special protections.
With any foreigners agitators that aren’t citizens the issue of protest is different. They should not bring their conflicts to someone else’s country. Go protest in their own country all the want.
