Hamas and its ilk have become more and more efficient at terrorising civilians; both Gazans and Israelis. To elevate the IDF to that level of terror-capacity is felt as a belittlement to the Hamas leadership. Hamas implies that the IDF is inefficient, in that it has not been able to even approach killing 1200 a day as was seen on day one of the war. The blue ribbon for killing-rate is still worn proudly upon the uniforms of jihadi fighters.
