It is not a colony, a colonizer would require to have strong army, navy, air force to achieve their goals and there was no way they would have been able to acquire a navy and an air force – the European Jews used to live in the ghettos of Eastern Europe, they were very poor people and therefore there was no way they would have been able to have a navy and an Air Force. The case of Palestine is the case of the European Jews who were extremely hated by the European Christians and Palestine was used as a place to get rid of them using the excuse that these Europeans were the Hebrews returning home. Today, the very same European countries that hated them have now become their friends and are supplying them with weapons and the reason for that is quite obvious: they want to make sure that the Jews that they hate remain in Palestine.
