The American government was never interested in allowing a bunch of European Jews to enter the country but they are always happy for the Jews to enter Arab countries and live there forever. In 2003, they found a diary book of Truman from 1947 which for the first time was made public and he was very angry with the Jews because they had asked him to allow 10,000 Jews into the country. Take a look:

Had ten minutes conversation with Henry Morgenthau about
Jewish ship in Palestine. He had no business, whatever to call
me. Henry brought a thousand Jews to New York on a supposedly
temporary basis and they stayed. The Jews have no sense of
proportion nor do they have any judgement on world affairs. They
care not how many Estonians, Latvians, Finns, Poles, Yugoslavs
or Greeks get murdered or mistreated as displaced persons as long as the Jews get special treatment. Yet when they have power, physical, financial or political neither H!tler nor Stalin has anything on them for cruelty or mistreatment to the under dog.
