I tend to agree with you on the futility of voting. Maybe if elected officials were required to wear exploding neck collars that detonated when the continuously updated approval ratings of their constituents fell below 50%…maybe then it might be worthwhile. But as things are now, once they are elected they have no accountability to the people. You can’t even communicate with them…if you call you get a robo menu of recordings. If you write, you get a generic form letter in return that has some vague boilerplate language “thanking you for expressing your concerns”. If you go down to their office…they just turn you away and probably put you on some secret terrorist no-fly list. The very idea that they could represent people who they can’t communicate with is absurd on its face.
