We would rally on Cyprus and one day go over to Eretz Israel and take it by force, as it was taken from us long ago. But I slept on this all-too-lurid idea, and the night brought me the decision that at this moment the wisest thing was to say nothing
.When I posted the above many months ago, Tzatz got very angry and he responded by typing everything in caps and he said that I made up the story. My reply to him was that, because I had already given him the page number, what he should have done was check to make sure that it was not true. He came back and sort of apologized. But this is very important for people to know that Theodore Herzl had made many attempts for the British to give him Cyprus! He did not want Cyprus to settle the Jews – but only as a piece of land very close to Palestine where he could train his Jewish army and then invade Palestine and take it by force.
