Take and hold territory., that is how wars are won. But we’ve heard these same types of claims by the IDF for at least 6 months.
The problem with this latest claim by Haaretz, a paper I have tremendous respect for, is that they don’t explain to their readers that it is impossible for Israel to control 100% of the territory.
2+ million Palestinians live there. The minute the IDF orders those people to move, again, so they can safely attack Hamas targets, Israel will again have to surrender territory to provide safe haven for those people.
26% after 9 months? Seems rather paltry to me.
Israel should stop there, hold the 26% territory captured hostage as a bargaining chip, and start FINAL negotiations to end the war.
