The article didn’t mention it (of course), but, on January 17, 2002, a member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades killed six people and wounded dozens at a bat mitzvah in H̱adera, Israel. That was followed by a wave of shootings and suicide bombings. That’s what this man was involved in, so please don’t make him out to be some sort of victim!
