When the French occupied many countries in North Africa, did they consider themselves to be North African? When the British occupied many countries in East Africa, did they consider themselves to be East African? What then would be the reason for another group of Europeans – the European Jews in Palestine – to consider themselves part of the Middle East and absolutely nothing about them is Middle Eastern! Why not stop identity theft and just embrace your own European ethnic and racial background and be happy with that?
