Re: Don't bomb Beirut: US leads push to rein in Israel response

Israel could’ve wrapped up Gaza in a week. Other conflicts involving Western armies have yielded much higher civilian to combatant ratios

Those stats are of course meaningless to the 1000’s of women, children and men caught in the middle, essentially by Hamas.

Yet the terrible truth is no country will prioritize the civilian lives of the enemy entity over their own – in an us-or-them, all lives will never be equal.

Resisting the predictable consequence of your stillborn mission to exterminate your neighbors,by re- targeting their population centres, while expending every effort to maximize your OWN civilians’ carnage, is the purest and sickest of martyrdoms.

As a cohesive fighting force Hamas will be wholly obliterated – no -one can save them. Nor will they be missed.

Lebanon isn’t Gaza. Not nearly as dense, nor flat.

However if there is going to a leveling, certainly there’ll be casualties on both sides.

Like their cowardly cousins in the South, only one side will employ the human- shield strategy for PR.
