These were not schools, nor were they safe refuges for civilians. These were legitimate war targets. Once Hamas makes them military headquarters and stores soldiers and munitions in those places, they are the ones committing war crimes. The same goes for mosques, hospitals and many other public areas. Hamas even uses ambulances to move men and munitions, another war crime. UNRWA discovered a Hamas terror tunnel dug beneath one of the schools they built, how good is that? The people of Gaza are well aware of these places being targets and they know why, but they continue to use them to shelter anyway. This just tells me that the people of Gaza are complicit with what Hamas is doing. During the “great march of return”, which lasted for a year and a half, Gaza parents allowed their children to be bussed to the front lines of this march every week for all of this time. 46 children were killed and up to 8,000 injured. Now I have to ask, if the people of Gaza are not complicit with this activity, why would they have subjected their children to this kind of violence?
