The next steps towards diminishing Hamas further are:
1. Permanent ceasefire/hostage exchanges
2. Israel ends the seige, humanitarian aid flows in
3. Reconstruction begins
Only then will the support for Hamas drop among the Palestinians, who now look at them rather favorably.
