The U.S. has been directly involved in the war against Yemen, first in alliance with Saudis, and now to protect “international shipping” and allow Israel to continue killing Palestinians. The Greek Delta Tanker, Sounion, is one of a fleet of Greek tankers supplying crude oil to the refinery in Greece, Agioi Theodoroi, Corinth, about 70 km from the center of Athens, owned by Motor Oil Hellas. They sell jet fuel to Americans, which has been used to bomb Houthis.
Have you ever asked yourself why the Saudis have been attacking the Houthis for years? Is it really because they are “terrorists”? Mind you, that label gets applied very loosely, depending on whose side you are on. I did some research to find out the reason the Saudis were attacking Yemenis. It’s a land grab for oil resources, pure and simple. In the northern mountainous region on west side of Yemen is an oil rich site that hasn’t been developed yet. Yemenis could go from being some of the poorest people on the planet to some of the richest.
I have come to admire the Houthis as men with tremendous force of character, even though I am a peace activist. I have seen footage of their army marching, with many of the men missing arms or legs, and yet they fight on. This made an indelible impression on me. They are a force to be reckoned with. They are master strategists.
It’s wrong for the U.S. to be bombing Houthis. Only the U.S. Senate has the right to declare war, and no war has been declared against the Houthis. So who is the terrorist? The U.S. disregards international law when it suits them to make an exception for themselves. They have exacted great economic hardship on Europe by insisting on imposing sanctions on Russia and blowing up the Nordstream pipeline. Yet they have used subterfuge and shell games to continue using Russian oil to fuel the navy. Motor Oil Hellas has been processing Russian oil that goes through a complicated process to disguise its origin.
