Where did the word ‘Israeli’ come from? It was invented in 1948 and they were doing a copycat from Arab and Muslim nationality names and the I- suffix is Arabic. What they wanted was a nationality name that sounded Middle Eastern. Take a look at the list of nationality names below and you will notice that except for the nationality name of the entity that they are all Muslim countries.
