Did you know that as soon as the Ottoman Empire was no more, the Ashkenazi in Palestine began to call themselves Palestinians! What a strange people! What a shameless people! Imagine how strange it would be for the French to call themselves Algerians when they were occupying Algeria.

1934 — Shulamith Wittenberg, native Palestinian artist showing in this country, is exhibiting her oils and woodcuts now at the Society for the Advancement of Judaism, 15 West Eighty-Sixth street. The display will continue until May 27, and is open daily from 2 to 9 p. m.
