Better read up on your history. It was Israeli’s shooting at the Britains to run them out as they were occupying Palestine. Britain had already signed that Hague declaration along with five other nations. So Britain then hands Palestine to the UN to give away.
So Israel then gets a state with borders while Palestinians did not.
