This seriously weakened the Arabs in Palestine and helped the Jews establish their state between 1947 and 1949.
The decision to start the Arab revolt was made by the Mufti of Jerusalem, Amin al-Husseini. It was a catastrophic error and typical of Arab leadership from Nasser to Sadam to Sinwar.
