The original refugees are long gone, but Palestinian Arab refugees are the only refugees in the world whose status is permanently inherited and grows larger every year. Had they accepted Israel’s right to exist, they would be celebrating 76 years of independent statehood today with pre-1967 borders. They chose war to gain everything several times and they lost.
