Israel has known since the day Hezbollah began firing rockets that it would stop with a ceasefire or if Hamas told it to stand down. Israel violated the first ceasefire when Hamas was returning hostages, because it didn’t want to accept any corpses, and when Hamas quibbled, it began to bomb again. And since then, Israel has refused to negotiate a ceasefire and hostage deal. So, again. All because Israel is bombing Lebanon. As well, Israel has refused to negotiate a ceasefire with either or both Hezbollah or the Lebanese government. Israel is in a state of war with Lebanon because it hasn’t observed the UN resolutions and still occupies portions of Lebanese territory. Israel has refused to negotiate with Lebanon over the territory and informed Lebanon that even if it were to obtain a cease fire from Hezbollah, that it would still be at war with Lebanon – over roughly 250 km of territory. And Lebanon stated that Hezbollah will not disarm as long as 1) Israel is at war with Lebanon and 2) as long as Lebanon doesn’t have its own independent military capacity to defend against an Israeli invasion. Considering Israel’s past aggression against Lebanon and it’s occupation of Lebanon (which resulted in the UN resolution against it), along with its constant bribery and manipulation of proxy militias and fake NGOs trying to get certain people elected into the Lebanese government, its rampant violations of international law, its militaristic society and hatred for Arabs, Christians, Muslims and pretty much the whole world …. and considering that the US specifically arms Israel to ensure its “qualitative edge” over all other Middle East countries … it’s going to a LONG TIME before Lebanon will have its own military capacity to defend against Israel. But of course, the “naive” don’t understand US-Israel geopolitics, nor the psycho delusions they share between each other.
