American sociologist, Seymour Martin Lipset, an ardent supporter of Israel and of zionism, disclosed after researching Israeli society:
“Opinion polls taken before the Yom Kippur War indicated that the majority of the Jews regarded the Arabs as an inferior people. As in other multi-ethnic societies, the long continuation within one nation of different peoples living with strongly different levels of culture, education and skill produces or sustains the phenomenon described as institutionalized racism in the United States.”
He went on to sound a rather ominous note, which for all intents and purposes is, and hasbeen becomes the reality for Israeli society. He said that “if Israel ignores its Arab population and relies on a large ‘external proletariat’, it could become a racist state”.
