BDS does not aim to remove Israel, it aims to change it.
It’s worth noting that Zionism is not Judaism.
The most extreme right wing govt in Israel’s history is trying to weaken the separation of powers, clamp down on free speech, clamp down on the press and implement the old Zionist dream of a greater Israel, if not “from the Nile to the Euphrates” right now, then perhaps some time later.
Israeli leaders have repeatedly expressed genocidal intent and the IDF and IAF have carried out genocidal actions. They have ticked the boxes in Article 2 of The Convention on Genocide.
Israel’s position is unsustainable. It’s economy is under severe pressure and it’s (dual) citizens are leaving in droves. The brain drain is significant.
At a minimum it needs to define its national borders and stop illegally annexing land.
BDS take a while to get going but it grows exponentially. Israel should take the opportunity to change, or be changed.
