Don’t mean to be picky but that should be Mileikosky because that was his fathers polish surname. Like all the original colonists in Palestine they changed their names to Hebrew sounding ones after 1948. They even had a government department that helped people choose Hebrew names. David ben Gurion (real name David Grun) Golda Meir (real name Goldie Mabovitch) are other examples. They also changed the names of Palestinian villages and towns into Hebrew sounding names in order to create an illusion of historical provenence. Hebrew itself, a dead language like Latin at the time was also re-created and taught in schools to the yiddish speaking immigrants in order to create the same illusion.
