The Ashkenazi never lived anywhere in the Middle East until 1882 when a bunch of white Europeans began to arrive in Palestine claiming to be the Hebrews. It was such a bizarre claim for a European people to make considering the fact that they have absolutely nothing in common with the people of the Middle East and they do look very foreign in Palestine. Today, they are no longer talking about being the descendants of Abraham because they are facing humiliation after DNA confirmed that they are in fact 100% European!
