There are only two reasons why the Ashkenazi would believe that they are the Hebrews: the first reason is that they are lying because there are benefits to be gained by claiming to be the Hebrews – which is – they get a chunk of Arab real estate on the Mediterranean for free. The second group are just delusional that they have been brainwashed from the time they were babies that they are the Hebrews and it is difficult for them to accept that they are not even though everything about them is alien to the Middle East.
