On the topic of post WW2 Palestine: there is an abundance of documented evidence that records how firstly through the United Nations UNSCOP process, the US Presidential Office conspired to disrupt ‘the orderly passage of Historic Palestine to a promised self rule’.
The League of Nations 1922 Palestine Mandate Article 2 specifically refers: The Mandatory shall be responsible for placing the country (contemporary Palestine-Israel) under such political, administrative and economic conditions as will … safeguard the civil and religious rights of all her inhabitants, irrespective of race and religion.)
The United Nations Organisation came into existence in 1945, specifically tasked to honour the body our International Law and to promote the peaceable resolution of potential conflict. Hence the Sept. 22, 1947 – the US Department of State’s Loy Henderson’s “strongly worded warning to Secretary of State George C. Marshall … that partition of Palestine into Arab and Jewish states was not workable and would lead to untold troubles in the future”
