Re: French-Israeli lawyer advocates punishment of 8 Israelis at ICC for ‘incitement to genocide’

“French newspaper Le Monde reports that our Senior Research Affiliate Omer Shatz, with Sciences Po’s “International Law In Action” clinic has submitted a report to the International Criminal Court against eight Israeli officials for incitement to genocide in Gaza.

According to the article, the 170-page report submitted to the Prosecutor of the ICC on behalf of an unnamed French-Palestinian victim, accuses eight Israeli officials of incitement to genocide. The list includes, among others, Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu.

The article cites Omer Shatz as saying the eight men “publicly and directly incited others to commit genocide against the Palestinians of Gaza” and his arguments of why he thinks the ICC must act as well as his personal reasons for turning to the court.”

The 170-page report will join many others documents received at the ICC and eventually someone will probably take time to read it.
