By that logic, there would have been peace before 1967, when there was no Israeli military presence in Syria, Lebanon, or the Palestinian territories, which had been under the control of Jordan and Egypt. Instead, Israel faced fedayeen raids, the Arab states’ refusal to make peace with Israel, and an Arab League boycott. If Israel’s enemies want peace, they should make peace, not excuses.
