It doesn’t matter what people call themselves or what language or religon their ancestors chose to adopt or were influenced by. What matters is the here and now and the physical relationship people have with the land of their ancestors, the sense of which was destroyed by the act of them being focibly expelled from the only place they had ever known, by armed militants from Europe and more recently settlers from America.
Today’s Palestinians are a mix of every civilisation and empire that has shaped the region over the ages, including the first known distinct group, the Canaanites, then later the Philistines, the Israelites, the Assyrians, the Babylonians and so on. To then be branded invaders by crazed & self entitled Israeli nationalists and supremists represents a gross distortion of events and a failure to understand the history of evolving human society and influences in the region.
