I don’t have the information to have an informed opinion on whether Israelis are leaving Israel. But I am astounded by the level of self-righteous defensiveness here about the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, including thousands of children. Netanyahu is a monster. How else to describe the Biblical level of destruction he’s wrought in Gaza? Now that Gaza is leveled, maybe the warhawks plan to salt the Earth? Only he’s no Old Testament God; he’s an immoral politician, like his backer Donald Trump. Joe Biden should have ceased supporting Israel with weapons once it became clear this was a war of vengeance. Starving thousands of people — how does that fit with the core moral beliefs of Judaism? No, I haven’t forgotten the terrible acts of Oct 7. But I am also appalled by the treatment of Palestinians that led up to them. Remove these settlers with their extreme right-wing views from the West Bank. Believe the majority of Gazans are against Hamas. Show mercy in negotiating a peace and a fair division of land between Palestinians and Israelis. The world is repulsed by what is being done by Israel. If only Rabin could be reincarnated. Or a new leader with Rabin’s vision.
