(Reuters) -The Israeli military said it carried out a strike in the area of Nasser hospital in Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip on Monday and that the chief of the general staff had ordered an inquiry.
Palestinian health officials said at least 20 people had been killed in the strike, including five journalists, one of whom worked for Reuters.
In a statement, the Israel Defence Forces said: “The IDF regrets any harm to uninvolved individuals and does not target journalists as such. The IDF acts to mitigate harm to uninvolved individuals as much as possible while maintaining the safety of IDF troops.”
