I am sure your aunt experienced a horror show. It is very likely that terrible injustice was served during this conflict. I have been to war in Vietnam and neither side lived up the the Geneva Conventions. I saw good young men, raised in Christian homes become animals in a short time from trauma, fear, lack of sleep, no sense of purposes, etc . Leadership was abysmal, but I never saw anything like what happened in Israel on Oct 7.
The most horrific act of terrorism in Vietnam was the My Lai Massacre, where an American platoon under Lieutenant William Calley massacred over 300 men, women, and children in the village of My Lai. It was considered the worst incident of the war. Hamas massacred over 1300 Israelis in a few hours, specifically targeting non-combatants.
