Hamas could have ended the tragedy at any point by surrendering. They initiated the war and they could stop it right now by laying down their arms and stop firing thousands of rockets into Israel’s civilian populated areas. Hamas knows it cannot win, so why continue to allow the people of Gaza to take brunt of Hamas’ folly? Palestinian blood appears to be cheap to Hamas.
