You see “extreme nationalism” even when it’s not there. That’s because of your EXTREME PESSIMISM, and FEAR of Nationalism.
The nationalist pride in my upbringing didn’t “morph into blind hatred of others”. I keep trying to tell you, but you refuse to understand, because Nationalism is too RISKY for you.
Turkish Nationalism is uniquely different. I’m talking about the mainstream Nationalism, not the far-right fringe Nationalists. Mainstream Turkish Nationalism is neither racist nor irredentist/ imperialist. It doesn’t require belittling or scapegoating of others. “Yurtta sulh, cihanda sulh” transl. “Peace at home, peace in the world”. It’s a popular quote from Atatúrk, an ultra-Nationalist.
