Hamas is not responsible for initiating this action, it is the people of Gaza who elected them in ’06. They are responsible for putting them in charge and they have to take ownership for who they elected. Gaza knew that Hamas was a terrorist proxy of Iran, with a mandate to eliminate Israel. They elected them because they thought they had a common goal, the destruction of Israel, but nothing could be further from the truth. Hamas would see everyone in Gaza killed if they could succeed in their goal of eliminating Israel as per the wishes of the mullahs of Iran. Hamas is in Gaza only because Iran is too distant to make war on Israel so they needed a staging ground closer Israel to operate from. The same has already happened to Lebanon. They elected Hezbollah into their government and has now bled the country dry. Lebanon is now bankrupt and a failed state. How good is it when Lebanese residents are robbing banks just to get their own money out ? Hezbollah can’t help Hamas now because of the two nuclear US aircraft carrier fleets parked off Israel. If they tried to help, what is left of Lebanon would be destroyed in a few days and Hezbollah would lose their platform to attack Israel.
