Yes, making a statement is better than doing nothing, but sternly worded emails are not going to really stop this. I seriously doubt that Netanyahu is going to wake up one morning and say to himself…”Oh crap…Botswana is pissed off at us…Stop the bombing immediately!”
I think Israel is going to have to lose some power plants (Hadera or Ashkelon), water desalination facilities (Ashkelon, Hadera, and Soreq), the stock market in Tel Aviv, or maybe the nuclear facility near Dimona. Whatever it is, it will probably have to be something that either has an impact on infrastructure to cause inconvenience for the public…or it will have to be something with a psychological impact like hitting the IDF HQ in Camp Rabin.
Once things go beyond words and Israel starts losing assets, I think the world will have Israel’s attention.
