True, but it also carries religious significance during times of non-mourning. Wiccans, Catholic priests, certain nuns, Greek Orthodox priests, Quakers and other groups seem to gravitate to black. There are other colors like Buddhists or Hare Krishna’s that go toward orange…and the weird Raelian cult seemed to prefer purple…Rajneeshees had a fondness for red…Mormons have a favoring for white underwear…but its just odd that black is so common. When you add in rockers, bikers, ninjas and other non-religious groups, the leaning toward black gets even more pronounced.
