The title of the article tendentiously ends with a question mark, and then the article acknowledges that there is no evidence to support the notion that Israel would steal organs. “Doctors at several Palestinian hospitals in Gaza told the Euro-Med Monitor team that organ theft cannot be proven or disproven solely by forensic medical examination…” The author of the article is woefully ignorant about organ procurement, and does not understand that Israel could have no possible use for the organs of dead Gazans. They could not possibly be used for organ transplantation for a host of reasons, including (1) organs are procured for transplantation only from donors who die in the hospital setting, where the organs can be procured when they are still transplantable, i.e., immediately or very shortly after brain death, and procured in a sterile environment; (2) organs cannot be transplanted into a recipient unless the organ and the recipient are histocompatible (look it up, dummies); (3) the potential donee and transplant team must be ready to receive the organ for implantation, which must be accomplished within six hours (for heart and lungs), twelve hours (for liver and pancreas), and thirty-six hours (for kidneys). Who here thinks that any of these criteria could be met in a wartime scenario? Who here thinks all of these criteria could be met? And finally, who here thinks that Israel would have any reason to spend its time procuring organs where they would be totally unusable? … But go on, it’s just another variation on the blood libel, updated for modern times and accepted by morons (i.e. anti-semites) who can’t think critically.
