You mention a VERY important point… God did all those things. It wasn’t people deciding as is the case with the impostor “Israel” today. They had a blatantly obvious sign…a column of fire in the sky leading them in the wilderness. They had food (mannah) falling from the sky. They had seas opening up in front of them. They had the Sun standing still in the sky. They were not just doing whatever they wanted and pretending without evidence that God was with them…they could see physical proof before their own eyes.
Its hard for modern people to think about God doing things like that, but it is because in today’s world we are flooded with the twisted version that God is only love and kind of a pushover with no standards of righteousness. But the part of the story that is almost always overlooked is that there was genetic corruption that had entered the human species…demonic infiltration from back in Genesis 6:4 that first resulted in the flood, and then resulted in the remnants of these demonic hybrids needing to be wiped out. Its a long study but there is a reason the bible speaks of Nephilim and later you have remnants like the ones Israel’s spies saw that they said made them look like grasshoppers by comparison. Remember the David and Goliath story?…Goliath was one of the remnant giants. And yes, there are archaeological artifacts discovered that substantiate the story (Iron weapons that are too large for regular sized humans to use, skeletons that are enormous, etc)…and several of those were discovered prior to photoshop even being invented...so despite many later fake photos, there are still some that are genuine.
Bottom line…God isn’t a psycho that just went about willy nilly killing randomly…there was a reason those specific ones were killed completely…with the long term goal being prevention of the corruption of the genetics of humans so eventually Jesus could be born and the pure sacrifice made to redeem God’s fallen creatures…mankind.
Like I said…its a long study with a lot of sorting out who each of these relatively forgotten groups of people are…but when you put it all together, it does actually make sense why it happened.
