Yvonne Ridley seems to believe that one can be raped by a tank. I for one don’t believe that’s physically possible yet she segues from discussing rape to discussing tanks.
Hamas operatives captured in Israel have confessed that they were directed to rape. Physical and video evidence shows rape. Hamas is not only proud of the October 7 massacre, they’ve promised to do it again. The only question left is how pervasive was it. Are we looking at 10 cases, 50 cases or 100 cases.
It’s not the first time Palestinians have engaged in massacres. There are multiple instances of rape and mass murder that took place in Lebanon by both Palestinian and Lebanese forces. Damour where members of the PFLP and PLO slaughtered some 582 Christians comes to mind. Yes, it was an act of “revenge” but it does show that this kind of barbarity is perfectly acceptable in Palestinian society.
So why would you deny, without getting into whataboutery, what Palestinians feel they can be justifiably proud of?
