AI is the future of warfare. Robotics and drones is the obvious use case but AI is far more useful in intelligence and electronic counter measures. Automating intelligence allows one to identify threats through an analysis of their public statements. Even an enemy’s location can be guessed with a high probability of accuracy using the gps history of their mobile phones and ips of their computers correlated with that of their family/associates. Mobile and computers phones themselves can be automatically hacked to download sensitive documents or listen in on conversations,. or access contact lists, etc.
This happens even today but it still involves a lot of human intervention. With advanced LLMs most of this will eventually become automated. In theory down the road an advanced enough AI could shutdown all heavy weapons of an enemy since they virtually always depend on digital electronics today. Even nuclear weapons might one day become useless against super AI. It would be like a bear trying to fight a human armed with advanced technology.
