Re: Houthis: Ships of those who move against Yemen will be targeted in Red Sea

In reality, the core players of this ‘coalition’ are US and UK. As the major Gulf States and major southern EU members have refused involvement. This makes it look very much like a thinly veiled Neo-colonial project. That is, sending the western gunboats up the waterway, to shell and subdue the insubordinate locals who dare resist them. After ten years of war inside Yemen, instigated by Saudi Arabian military intervention (with weaponry and contracted personnel supplied to KSA by US-UK), the Houthi-Ansarallah faction have emerged as de-facto victors and rulers of vast majority of Yemen. Houthi-Ansarallah are now engaged in direct naval blockade of Red Sea, as form of active military sanction against what they perceive as hugely disproportionate use of force and violence against Gaza civil population by Israel (weaponry supplied by US). This is interesting in bigger Geo-political picture. As is historical hallmark, that the beginning of the decline of an Empire (in this case current US global Empire) is that they start to struggle to maintain full control over their established and valued key trade routes, herein, the vital sea-lane leading to Suez Canal. Slow loss of control over key trade routes is a common denominator in the historical decline of major Empires, from Mongols to Romans.
