Franz Kafka never said or wrote that. Your “famous” Kafka quote, with which you start your article, was actually written by Jordi Sierra i Fabra for the ending of a children’s book published in 2006 in Spain, “Kafka and The Traveling Doll.” Kafka said so many truly wonderful things, what a shame that the false quote at the end of a children’s book is getting such traction. I am sorry, too, that the wrongness of your opening line, dissuaded me from reading the rest of your piece.
