Obviously most agree with these sentiments and hope their wishes are granted. The role of Egypt and to a lesser extent Jordan is very strange & unexpected. The Canal revenues which are very important to Egypt’s GDP in an already sinking economy have already shrunk considerably and there is is risk for them the Canal might even close ! Yet they remain “shtum”, docile and placid while literally facing the possibility of a grave economic unheavel which could easily return to power the infamous Muslim Brotherhood. This could have consequences far worst than the Arab Spring throughout north Africa & the region.
At least its a comfort that Blinken and recovering Austin are keeping an eye on developments there
